Services
Alcohol and Other Drug Services
The Better Connect hubs provide Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) services through Queensland Injectors Health Network (QuIHN) and Central Queensland Indigenous Development (CQID).
Together, QuIHN and CQID provide comprehensive AOD services to promote positive change and well-being in our communities.
QuIHN Services
QuIHN provides support for people looking to address alcohol or substance use and any associated mental health concerns. Our team consists of therapists, case managers, and AOD peer workers who use person-centred, evidence-based approaches to support people through change. We offer individual counselling, practical support, and group programs that focus on relapse prevention, harm reduction, parenting, and well-being.
Our group programs include:
MudMaps – for anyone who is, or is thinking about, making changes to substance use.
MAISE – a support, skill-building, and relapse prevention program for those experiencing the effects of substance use and mental health concerns.
Treehouse Parenting Group – supporting parents by enhancing positive parenting skills, addressing parental and child protection concerns, and providing education on the effects of substance use and mental health on parenting.
CQID Services
CQID provides culturally appropriate, holistic services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
Our AOD caseworkers offer case management, harm reduction, relapse prevention, and culturally tailored support for individuals and families.
CQID’s HEALTHY LIVING program helps people explore and address substance use, while STAYING STRONG supports long-term recovery.
