Targeted Regional Initiatives for Suicide Prevention

The Targeted Regional Initiatives for Suicide Prevention (TRISP) is a community-led initiative supporting the Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay, and Central Queensland regions. It aims to strengthen local suicide prevention efforts through:

•  Awareness-raising

• Training and education

• Collaborative planning

The service empowers communities to recognise early signs of distress, promote protective factors, and respond compassionately to those at risk or impacted by suicide.

How the Program Works

TRISP works alongside local partners to build capacity and resilience through meaningful engagement and shared knowledge.

Community-Led Approach

Peer coordinators connect communities with practical tools, training, and support options, fostering early and compassionate responses to distress.

Peer Coordinators

Grounded in the belief that lasting change happens when communities support each other, this framework addresses the broader social, economic, and environmental drivers of distress.

Well Together Framework

TRISP supports the National Suicide Prevention Strategy 2025–2035 and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention Strategy (Gayaa Dhuwi), promoting culturally safe, inclusive, and healing-focused approaches.
